Reports from The Sun indicate that a faction within the Conservative Party, described as “a group of senior M.P.s,” is advocating for a notable amendment to the proposed ban. They are reportedly exerting pressure on the Department of Health to carve out an exemption for cigars. This group said to comprise around a dozen M.P.s, represents a small but potentially influential segment of the House of Commons, totaling 650 members, with the Conservative Party holding 350 of those seats.
