Ecuador, for instance, has become renowned for its shade-grown tobacco. Instead of using artificial coverings, Ecuadorian farmers utilize natural cloud cover. The tobacco fields are situated at high elevations where clouds often hang low, providing a natural canopy that filters the sunlight. This unique environmental factor contributes to the distinctive qualities of Ecuadorian shade-grown tobacco, which is prized in the cigar industry for its unique characteristics.
